Situation and medium-term forecast for

Pollen information for Salzburg from 16 June 2025

The grass pollen count continues!

The heat and sunshine are causing the concentration of grass pollen in the air to rise once again. This leads to high pollen counts, especially in the vicinity of mown meadows. In many places, the meadows are now being mown, which should slowly reduce the concentration of grass pollen. Thundery showers will only bring brief relief. The pollen count will only decrease at altitudes above 1500 metres.

In the vicinity of cereal fields, the flowering of rye and wheat can be expected to cause pollen problems.

Dock and plantain are also in bloom and cause additional irritation.

In Lungau and Pinzgau, spruce and pine trees are still in bloom. Their pollen leads to typical yellow precipitation on smooth surfaces, but is not allergologically relevant.

At higher altitudes, the flowering of green alder is slowly coming to an end, and long-distance flights can also cause irritation in valley locations.

Privet can cause allergic reactions in people who are sensitive to the pollen of the olive tree family on direct contact.

The surrounding air also contains pollen from: Nettle, umbellifer, pine, juniper, rose, lime, elder. These are of minor allergological significance.
