Invitation to a free online patient workshop: Understanding allergies, coping better with the pollen season

On 23 July 2026, from 7.00 pm to 8.30 pm, the Austrian Pollen Information Service and Bencard Allergie GmbH are jointly organising a free online workshop specifically for people with allergies.

The evening will be all about sharing experiences: we’d particularly like to hear about your personal experiences with allergies and desensitisation. At the same time, experts will provide you with concise information on how allergies develop, how pollen counts are monitored, how the immune system reacts to allergens, and what resources are available to help you through the pollen season.

The programme combines short keynote talks with interactive Q&A sessions. Lukas Dirr, MSc in Aerobiology from polleninformation.at, will discuss pollen as an allergen trigger, whilst Dr Markus Berger, a specialist in ENT, will focus on desensitisation. An open Q&A session from 8.00 pm, moderated by Dr Miriam Hollerer and Dr Katrin Birkholz, will round off the evening.

Feedback from participants is more than welcome: the feedback collected will help to further develop and optimise treatment options and information services for people with allergies in a targeted manner. The Austrian Pollen Information Service therefore expressly supports this initiative and is delighted to be able to contribute, together with Bencard Allergie, to improving care for those affected.

Participation is free of charge and no registration is required. Anyone wishing to ask the speakers questions or to be kept informed about future events can register in advance here or via the QR code.

We look forward to seeing you there!
