Situation and medium-term forecast for Upper Austria

Pollen forecast for Upper Austria from 1 to 8 July 2026

The heatwave is reducing pollen levels!

The ongoing heatwave has led to either a complete cessation of pollen levels or a drop to a low, late-summer level in the lowlands of the Central and Danube regions. Plantain and goosefoot plants are the most likely to withstand the hot temperatures. In contrast, in the Mühlviertel, on the Alpine foothills and in the inner Alpine regions, moderate – and locally even higher – levels of grass pollen are still occurring, depending on mowing, altitude and humidity. Rye pollen is also present in these areas. Pollen from the nettle, which is of no significance in terms of allergies, is generally common.
