Fluctuating pollen load!

The main flowering of the grasses is over. The pollen load varies depending on mowing, altitude, weather and grass species. Late-flowering grass species can still lead to moderate to heavy pollen loads, especially in the Mühlviertel and the Alps. Pollen from rye can increase the stress here. In contrast to grasses, heat and drought favour the flowering of plantain.

Pollen from trees and shrubs includes pine, lime, elder and robinia, as well as sweet chestnut from afar, but these are of little allergological significance. In the Alps, the green alder blossoms, which can cause localised exposure to alder and birch pollen allergy sufferers .
