Pollen forecast for Upper Austria from 19 to 26 August 2026
Mugwort and ragweed are in bloom!
Pollen levels from mugwort are at their peak. Allergy sufferers should currently avoid areas with weeds. The goosefoot family of plants also grows in these areas. Due to the hot and dry weather this year, pollen levels have increased significantly compared with previous years. As a result, their allergenic potential could increase here too, just as it has in warmer regions. Pollen from ragweed – a significant allergen – is already appearing in isolated cases, presumably carried by the wind from afar. Locally, plantain growing in similar habitats may also lead to moderate pollen levels.
